I am interested in learning more about the differences and
similarities between the design and development processes in computer
software and computer game production.

What are the differences between the two? What are the typical traits
of these two paradigms? (ie. culture, lead times, success rates,
ethos, problems, successes).

What learning lessons could each side take from one another?

Indeed games are of course software. I am, more accuractely, looking
at the business application software and video game software.

Thank you for your comments caiius and I quite agree with the points made.

In fact a game is a software ;)

historically, game designers was software developpers.

Software developpers/designers could share techs knowledge and methods.
Game designers could teach a certain spirit of creation and most
important ergonomy and beauty of UI.

The main difference, is that a game's goal is a scenario, when a
software's goal is conformance of a set of functionnalities and rules.
