What price range do you consider "cheap" and what preferences do you
have for an area of the United States? In other words - if you have to
fly to get to the cheap destination, it certainly won't be cheap
anymore!

Cheap I mean around $500 of less (perhaps more if the destination is
really nice) for the weekend excluding airfare. I am not too
concearned about airfare. I just want a nice warm destination to go
over a weekend with privacy.

Sappy - this question is open and available to any researcher who
feels they can offer an acceptable answer. I don't feel I have any
particular advice to provide on this topic, but sit tight, and another
researcher might have some suggestions.

Hello and thank you for your question.

Northern Florida might be just right, but you'll need to wait until
later in the year when the weather will be warmer.

If you think this will do, you can purchase and download the complete ebook here:

If this suits your needs, please let me know if you will accept this as an answer!

Looking forward,

Yeah, Sappy, a lot of people can read you, but we don't know who you are.
Since you ask about a warm destination, when are you planning to go?
This time of the year, only California south of Monterey has beaches
that might be warm (not the water).
If you can wait till spring, I know a place about 1 1/2 drive north of
San Francisco near the mouth of the Russian River that could fit your
bill. It is not a resort (no restaurant), but it quite private and
there are restaurants quite near.
Beaches? There are several unpopulated ones along the coast (the
water is pretty chilly).

Click on Duncan's Mills Inn.
The photo is "for real". The place is at a dead end in the woods. If
this could be it, give them a call and ask about beaches, restaurants,
etc.

Good luck, Myoarin

La Parguera on the western end of the south coast of Puerto Rico is a
quiet place. A big lagoon with mangrove barrier islets makes for fun
exploring with an inexpensive rental motorboat ($15 an hour but you
can negotiate).

As the locals think it is too cold to go to the beach in "winter"
(after all, temps are in the 70s to low 80s!) it is pretty quiet on
the west coast of the island. From Rincon (surfing) to Joyuda,
Boqueron, and Combate, the beaches are empty of nearly everyone except
sensible locals and budget-conscious Americans.

I'll be there in February! Not including airfare $500 could give you a
four-day weekend with hotel, food, and rental car.

Sappy,
Apologies for not responding sooner.
As a quiet alternative in Florida I could suggest Cedar Key. I don't
know Florida very well - hardly at all - but we spent a night there
a couple of years ago and it was pure relaxing. Stayed at the Island
Hotel and Restaurant (which you can find on this site). It looks like
the setting for the hotel in the film "Key Largo". It's not modern,
and the beds may not be the best, but you know you are in place that
is off the beaten track. (My parents probably stayed there in the
early thirties!
But there are other accommodations, and you can check out other sites
on the Cedar Key. It is on the west coast, rather far up the
pennisula and probably a long drive from airports. :-( It is also
mentioned on the allgetaways site.

http://www.cedarkey.org/

A less remote possibility could be Tarpon Springs, north of Tampa.
http://www.tarponsprings.com/

I don't know about accommodations there.
Oh, and I don't know about secluded beaches at either place, but a
call or email to someone on the sites could find advice.

Good luck, Myoarin
