My WebDav folders suddenly have a big delay in them I have been using my Windows Server 2003 as a standalone fileserver that I access over webdav (webfolders). I have a shortcut to the share on my desktop. I just double click on it and it opens up just like a SMB share and I can work on files or drag file to and from my desktop. I have been using this for 2 years. Something strange started to happen about 1 month ago. It used to open fast, but now there is a 20 second (or more) delay when I first open a webdav share. very annoying. Once it is open I can move from folder to folder relatively fast, but it still lags a bit here also, compared to last month. If I clode all windows, I thenn need to go back to the shortcut on my desktop to get back into the share and need to endure the delay again. I have the server using auto updates. Could a new Microsoft patch have introduced this delay affect? I have tiedconnecting with both XP pro SP1 and XP Pro SP2 clients, and they both do this. What can I do to fix this? Have others experienced this? thanx in advnce, |

if you have installed the xp pro sp2, firstly use the system restore to restore it to the past point. your situation is seems related to the network aspect. you work with the folder and getting slow, most likely every time you touch on this folder, it have to spend time looking for the source/destination, hences cause such lagging condtion. if recently, you have installed any network related servces, just easy to try restore to the past point, and see whether it will back again.
