I have about 10 packages of personal goods, 2 of books, 2 of kitchen utensils and appliances, 4 of clothes, and 2 of snowboard equipment, all used, that I need to ship from Honolulu to Tokyo at the end of this week. We need the stuff to arrive in Tokyo within about 4 weeks. What is the easiest way to get this done? My financee is Japanese and we'll be moving back to Tokyo beginning of December. |

Have you explored all traditional methods already? (i.e. USPS, DHL, UPS, Fedex, etc.) |

For a fee, I believe per package or by weight, you can take the items with you on your flight back to Japan. That way you don't have to wait for them to arrive or worry about them arriving before you do. Also, you'd want to call ahead and rent a van or truck when you arrive at the airport. |

rent a boat and ship to Tokyo, this is cheapest way. if you don't mind money ,so just take all your luggage to the plane. |

You want to be carefull when choosing a company to move personal goods. There are freight forwarders or shipping comapnies that can accomodate your needs, and there are what they call removal companies, re-locating companies (if you will). The difference is that the shipping companies do not get involved in the packing and the crating of teh shipments, hence, their price will be much less expensive, where remaoval companies get involved in estimaing your re-packing and provide you of a more complete service by coming to your home and pack, shrink wrap and crate all what is neded to be shipped prior to transportation overseas. From your question and explanation, I gathered that you shipment is pre-packed, and I think that you are better off dealing with a shipping company or a typical freight forwarder. Naturally, there are companies that do both, the packing and the shipping, but, more often than none, you'll find them more expensive than shipping companies. Here is what I recommand, go to google search, search for "online shipping companies" get a couple of rates, compare them and then call these companies; www.dhl-usa.com www.fedex.com www.ups.com www.homeshipping.com www.emeryworldwide.com good luck |
