Randy,

I haven't found anything that is exactly what you describe, but this
10-day live-in program in Santa Rosa, California sounds interesting:

http://www.drmcdougall.com/clinic.html

A former neighbor of mine who has type 2 diabetes spent three weeks at
the Pritikin Longevity Center in Aventura, Florida, and she raved
about it. She lost weight and got her diabetes under control without
medications. You might want to give this a look:

http://www.pritikin.com/benefits/benefits_Diabetes.shtml

Please let me know if you'd like me to gather more information about
either of these options.

"There are 18.2 million people in the United States, or 6.3% of the
population, who have diabetes. While an estimated 13 million have been
diagnosed with diabetes, unfortunately, 5.2 million people (or nearly
one-third) are unaware that they have the disease. Diabetes is a
disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin, a
hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into
energy needed for daily life.

Sanoviv Medical Institute and Health Retreat excels at treating
chronic degenerative diseases such as diabetes. While traditional
Western medical treatments focus on insulin and medications, the
Sanoviv approach emphasizes diet, nutrition, exercise, psychological
issues and lifestyle modification, all in a beautiful, serene
setting."

such a thing as an online service for diabetics where we can pay a
monthly fee and they advise us on meal plans, etc. that would be ok.

I have heard very good things about the eDiets "Living with Diabetes"
plan. The eDiets site is one of the most reputable sites of its kind,
so you don't have to worry about being ripped off (as you no doubt
know, there are lots of hucksters out there!)
