From 1974 to 1984 I worked for a largish company in Pasadena, California. In its parking lot -- and sometimes on the freway on the way to work -- I used to see a car with the vanity plate CQCQASI . I always took this to mean "Is there anybody out there like me?" (Rationale: CQ is the radio operator's request "anybody out there, please respond". And asi is Spanish for "thus" or "like this" or "in this way".) I always meant to try to find out who the person was... but never did. At my current stage of life, looking back on things, including "roads not taken", I'd like to track down CQCQASI and, at the least, report that the message was received. |

Hi again, I began the procedure to purchase this plate online and the plate is currently available, so whoever had it before has let it expire. |

Awww... Well, I s'pose _my_ license plate should have read CAR P D M, huh. Ah, well. Let's hope at least that _that_ CQ was answered... Thanks for looking, robertskelton. |
