Dear beechtoo-ga,
Open up your browser, click on the top right hand corner of the screen
on the icon which looks like two pieces of paper laying on top of each
other. It is the icon to the left of the X. If you hold you mouse over
it long enough it will say ?Restore Down?.
Click on this and it will reduce the size of the browser window on
your screen. Now move your cursor to the edge of this window and you
will see that when your cursor it reaches the edge, it will change to
an arrow pointing both ways. When it does that, hold your finger on
the left mouse button and move your mouse to move the edge of this
screen to make it larger or smaller. You can do it both top, bottom,
the sides or at the corner. To move the entire window on the screen,
place your cursor on the banner at the top which is probably in blue
and will have the title of the page your are currently looking at with
your browser. Hold your left button down on your mouse and drag the
window to the left hand side of your screen. Size it so that it covers
half of your screen.
Now you need to open up another browser window, so do this as you
would normally do it on your computer. When it opens up it will either
be full size on your screen, or it may already be reduced to the same
size as your screen above. In any event, you just have to go through
the same process to reduce the size of the window and place it on the
right hand side of the screen. You should now have two screens side
by side and you can switch from one to the other.
To restore them to full screen just click on the icon on the top
right hand side next to the X which will now be a single sheet of
paper.
You can do this with the vast majority of software programs on your computer.
I should say, however, that sometimes web sites dictate how a new
window is to be opened when visiting their sites and sometimes this
may open up in a full window despite you having your current browser
window at 50% of the screen.
If you have any problems with this do ask for clarification.
