Is there a way to print a screen with one or a combination of
keystrokes in Windows XP? I am trying to find something faster and
easier than cutting and pasting.

Hello tkamprath,

Please try this and let me know if it works for you.

To copy/capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Scrn at the same time.

To capture the entire screen, just press Print Scrn.

Open a new document in MS Word, MS Photo Editor, or Adobe PhotoShop

Paste the screen shot by holding down CTRL and V at the same time.

The method you propose is what I do now. I was looking for a faster
and simpler method, possibly a method where I can make one keystroke
or a combination keystroke such as alt + another key to immediately
print the current window.

I think back to days of DOS, where you just had to simply hit the
print screen key and whatever was on the screen would print out.

Would this program interest you?

"Print Screen Deluxe is the ultimate screen capture utility. It
provides a fast and easy way to capture, print and save your screen.
One keystroke does it all! With one keystroke you can capture and
print the entire screen, the current window, a selected region, and
more..."

Hello...the following is Freeware not Shareware as above...try them
both and decide!

From PC World:

Ah, the mysterious Print Screen key. It's supposed to do just one
thing--print the danged screen--but sometimes it fails to do even
that. Take a gander at Purrint, a tiny freebie from an Arsware
shareware author who goes by the nom de net of BCheck. This critter
puts all 85 of its kilobytes into making the Print Screen key work
properly. Purrint can print screens, copy them to the clipboard, and
save them in bitmap, JPEG, or Portable Network Graphic formats.

If you take a lot of screen shots, you'll like Purrint's option to set
the program to always export to the Clipboard, printer, or a file.
Click on the image of the lucky black cat to set automatic file naming
and other advanced options. From then on, all you need to do is press
the Print Screen key. You even could train your cat to do that--if
cats could be trained to do anything.

To Rainbow:

It looks like the software you suggested will work. It costs $30.00.

Another researcher named canadianhelper-ga suggested a freeware
program which I will tryout first.

I've been using Gadwin Printscreen software for years and years. It's
freeware and it works very well.
