Dear stu333-ga,
If this is again for your interview, I can provide you with now, the
operation name for the Afganistan operation with background
information. I can provide some background information on the very
small RAF presence in the Balkans, but alas, no operation name.
However I can provide you with a contact number which you could call
first thing Monday morning and attempt to obtain the information (I've
just tried the number and the relevant person is not there at the
moment).

Would you like me to post this information as an answer?

name and the phone number and contact that would be great.

Dear stu333-ga,

There is currently a deployment of RAF Harrier GR7 Aircraft to
Afghanistan. This comes under Operation Veritas.
This is from a RAF press release:
"The Secretary of State for Defence announced on 25 August 2004 the
UK's decision to deploy six RAF Harrier GR7 aircraft to Kandahar,
Afghanistan, for an initial period of nine months?.The deployment
forms part of OPERATION VERITAS, our wider operation to help end
international terrorism."

This is the briefing for the operation:

From the same web site the page on "Current RAF Operational
Deployments", the following information appears on the Balkans:
"As part of the on-going United Nations-led duties in Bosnia and
Herzegovina there are currently Merlin helicopters based at Banja Luka
airport."

"Merlins of No 28 Squadron deployed on their first operational tour -
to the Balkans in support of UN Forces - in the Spring of 2003."
