Hi Rosie

Thanks for asking us to help you with this question. If you've
already tried, you'll know the information is not easily found. Many
artists are quite secretive about such things. (I probably should
thank Celine Dion for being more open and helping out with information
on tour management on her website.)

So, you want to know about working for or with Dylan. You could try
the 'ask a question' facility at his site - (foggy@bobdylan.com).
I'll let you know if they get back to me.

I think your best hope would be to contact the people who almost
certainly organize Dylan's tours:

Concerts West
8899 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90048
(310) 285-6460

They are the company formed by Jerry Weintraub who has been involved
in Dylan's management for many years. See various pages at:
http://www.bobdylan.com

A biography of Weintraub describes him setting up Concerts West. Go
to:
http://www.warnerbros.co.uk/movies/oceans11/index.html
click on film-makers, then his name.

Concerts West are a huge concert tour promotion company, part of the
AEG group, see:
http://www.celinedion.com/english/lasvegas.html

I have searched the web for evidence of Dylan changing companies and
found none.
See my strategy at:

Other managers said to have a connection with Dylan are:

Kathryn Schenker Associates
 1776 Broadway
 New York City
 New York 10019
 USA
 -- management group

and:

Kramer, Jeff
OK Management
275 South Beverly Drive
Suite 215
Beverly Hills
California 90212
USA

-- manager

( http://www.expectingrain.com/dok/who/who.html )

There are no websites or email addresses for any of these contacts;
they obviously like a quiet life.

Hope this helps you towards your goal of working for a company linked
to Dylan or getting involved in one of his tours. Have fun.

outline of search strategy:
1 Bob Dylan management
2 Jerry Weintraub manager tour concert promoter
3 Concerts West Dylan

I have tried these addresses, and received no response what so ever.
Do you have more specific information?

First of all, thanks for your feedback and rating. I would certainly
have wished you luck if I had seen your message before I went on
vacation. Now I'm really upset with those people you wrote to for not
answering even if they had nothing to offer you. (My query on the fan
site wasn't answered either.) I've talked to a couple of people about
this and I gather that it is just very difficult to get into work in
the music business. The jobs are never advertised as there are always
lots of people wanting to be involved, although the hours can be long
and hard. Apparently one way in is by being part of a sound or
lighting crew - is this something you could do? I'm afraid there are
no easy answers here. There is always an outside chance that the
right kind of 'different' letter might get a response, or you could
try to develop contacts in the business. Someone I know who works at
a venue with many different bands passing through has learnt a lot
about the way things are done. Could this be a step in the right
direction for you? I really wish there was a straightforward way for
you to achieve your ambition but I'm afraid it's just not that simple.
 Good luck.

I will try the address you suggested, I have looked on the dylan sites
and there is nothing there. I'll let you know if it is successful.
Thank you for such a prompt reply. Wish me luck!
