I will continue my research for a list of Japanese herbs that are use
medically. Alternatively, you may wish to separate this question in
the hopes another researcher will be able to locate Japanese herbs and
I will be able to post the links I provided for Chinese herbs as an
official answer.

Tsumuro Co. seems to be one of the leading suppliers of "kampo" --
Japanese herbal medicines -- and lists some of their major kampo
products here:
