Puropse of the question is to understand what industries benefit from
large scale web traffic. How to establish this is to understand
organisations online that have alot of leads i.e people comiong onto
their websites, this is monitored by hits. And how many of the
organisations convert these leads to acthual sales.
using this category, it could be established. which industry is a
large scale online money generator. Plus high revenue is a category
for establishing the success and size.

hoepe this helps.

Hello laline-ga,

I'd like to try and answer this question for you, but it would help to
have some additional detail first.

One question for you is: What do you mean by "industries"?

If you're looking for broad industrial categories -- things like
"furniture and home furnishings" or "clothing and accessories" -- then
there is a lot of information available from official government
sources.

If you need narrower definitions -- like "book sales" or "shoes" --
then these tend to be provided by commercial market research services,
and the actual statistics can be hard to come by.

Also, most electronic commerce is still business-to-business (or B2B
as it's known), rather than sales to consumers. For instance, about
half of all sales of pharmacueticals to drugstores and hospitals is
carried out over the internet. Consumers, however, still buy most of
their medicines the old-fashioned, off-line way.

Are you interested in B2B activity, or only retail
(business-to-consumer, or B2C) activity?

In sum, please let me know if you need:

--broad industry categories (information is available)

--narrow industry categories (information is hard to come by)

--B2C or B2B or both?

Thanks.

hello,pafalafa..or anyone else whom can answer this question.

Im looking b2c mainly or b2b organisations that benefit from high
traficing websites.
i previously gave example of Insurance "industry" due to the fact that
inurance companies do alot of business through the web even though
they have a realtime set up on the high street. Also an example i gave
was the travel "industry" due to the fact that alot of consumers buy
holidays online n due to that high revenue is generated.
These 2 example are of industries and within these industries are
successfull organisations i.e. Easy jet online. or Tesco insurance or
the AA insurance grp.

Note: both of the above example have a call center set up/ or a help desk solution.

therefore: whislst researching undertstand that organisations that
would benefit form a call center or help desk solution or already
have1 will also be a plus.

any other info required plz do ask i will try my best to clarify for you.

laline-ga,

Thanks...but I'm still a bit confused.

Are you looking for information about industries (travel, insurance,
etc) or about individual companies?

Also...what sort of information? Do you want economic statistics
(e.g. amount of sales over the internet vs brick-and-mortar sales) or
are you looking for something else?

Your question title mentions "web traffic statistics" -- what do you
have in mind here?

In short, the more you can tell us about what you need, the better the
chances that a researcher can craft a well-targeted answer to your
question.

Thanks.

hi thanx for your feed back.....

let me try to be brief.....n break down in parts according to your last comments.

1) travel and insurance are two industries which i have already looked
at and concidered. I need to find another two alternatives....with
similar charactristics.( looking for industries)

2)Amount of sales over the internet V brick and mortar

3) web traffic stats ( is to establish which industries have the most
people going through them, using facilities such as hit counter etc
this can be established. Also the number of leads vonverted into
achual sales.

N:B Looking for business that would require a help desk facilty and
call center back up. Therefore Adult industry online would not suficce
because people would not require a help desk inorder to deal with
enquiries.

(Looking for businesses that rpovide a service or product to consumers)

thank you hope this helps, please ake for further details if required.

If you have a web-site which generates a lot of traffic the best
industry to sell it is XXX/WEB business. The whole business works
basing on redirecting traffic from one service to another.

The other business you can make is selling mobile content as an
reseller of one of world wide mobile integrators like Mediaplazza
(www.mediaplazza.com).

All depends what is the profile of people visiting your web page (?)
Basing on visitors profile you should decide what will be the best
business to place there.
