I currently have a software program that will be for sale to the US military. I am interested in how to go about geting a government grant to help me finance this software. $100,000 is needed to finalize this project, and 1/3rd is paid for out of my own pocket. Please provide any detailed information on how to go about proceeding with a grant that will lead to me completing this project, as the minimum purchase estimate is currently $1.8 mil. Although this project is currently being paid for out of pocket. The person with the most detailed info, will be chosen. Credit is not very good. -Hoping for advice, Ryan |

If you have good prospects of selling your software then finance should not be a problem but it's going to take A LOT more than $20 to suss this out, based on the skimpy information that you have provided. Please be aware it's that Researchers who CHOOSE whether or not they are going to provide you with an answer. You cannot choose from 'the most detailed info'. That's not the way things work. For your info, I am not a Researcher so I could be wrong - I often am. Good Luck! |

I think your situation demands a strategic approach and a grant is not the solve here. If your software has a commercial prospect or you already have a buyer than you will get financial support from banks, leasing companies and also you can merge with similar software vendor. If you are not sure about its commercial prospect, invested your personal belongings to make your dream come true and still far from a finished product, you can approach organizations who help innovative researchers. In this case, a software for military is something that may not appeal those organizations. At this point you should put enough effort on marketing with what you have and convince someone to share your risk and profit. A demo software is a good start. Please read, "Turn Around!
