I am looking for an old christmas record I owned in the eighties. It was of unknown age. It was a 33-1/3 full sized LP with a blue label. The name of the group may have had "tabernacle choir" in the name. Songs I remember include, "nuttin' for christmas", "the wassail song", "god rest ye merry gentlemen", "up on the housetop", "silent night", "rudolph the rednose reindeer", "frosty the snowman", "o tannenbaum", "o come all ye faithful", "hark the herald angels sing", "we three kings", "all I want for christmas (are my two front teeth), away in a manger, and "deck the halls". I remember the song "nuttin' for christmas" had banter between the lead singer (childish voice) and the rest of the choir. Example: Singer - "I'm gettin' nuttin' for christmas." Choir - "Nuttin'?" Singer - "Aw, nuts!" I am looking for the name of the album so that I can try to find it online to buy it. |

Well, if it had "Tabernacle Choir" in the title, it's a safe bet that the word before that was "Mormon." They've been putting out Christmas albums for decades, both real carols and Christmas songs, and some of them have been available for a long time. It's also possible that your album was a sampler album by a lot of different performers. That would make it harder to find unless you could remember some names. Archae0pteryx |
