I want to locate a 802.11 wlan (wi-fi) access point with the same or
comparable automatic networking features (WLAP) as the Intel 2011B but
54Mbps or faster...

         I would recommend to check the features of the Netgear WG302
802.11g wireless access point. Try to access this link to check the

Also look at Aironet devices from CISCO they are really stable and can
give you better security options such as WPA , EAp protocols and so on
.....

I think you should try Linksys WRT54G or WRT54GS
