Are you wanting advice on how to prevent sales representatives from
displaying bigotry, sexism, and other prejudicial attitudes toward
customers, or advice on how sales representatives should react when
these kinds of attitudes are present in customers?

Move on to the next customer and have another salesperson handle.
Sad, but there are many ignorant people.

Devicing a policy for sales representatives in a retail store should
not be much of a problem. It is mostly about screening the right
person. You can try some guides from http://www.davekahle.com and
http://www.objectivemanagement.com/default2.htm.

In other cases where you are dependent much on the experience of sales
representatives and where multiple number of meetings with any
customer is needed you need to tackle things differently.

Please check "Sexual Harassment Prevention Training" and other
excellent articles from http://www.employer-employee.com/.

Regards.
