hi
my 20 month old dog went to his dogsitter for 9 days, since he is back
he is sleeping so much and panting, he also runs with me 3-4 miles and
throws ball a lot, could it be his disc is sore, any ideas please.
otherwise he is very healthy, eats only organic dog pellets and
carrots, he is drinking lots of water.

Please do not try to diagnose your dog at home. Have him examined by a veterinarian.

It is important to find out from your dogsitter if your dog's diet was
different -- even if unintentionally. If it's a vegetarian dog on a
seemingly restrictive albeit apparently healthy diet, then it might
have had a bad reaction to something it ate while you were away. Find
out from the dog sitter if your dog had any opportunity to 'pig out'
and then, take your poor sick pup straight to a vet. Also, if there
were other dogs en residence at the dog sitter's place, is your dog
inoculated against the usual nasty doggy diseases? Get as many clues
from your dogsitter as you can, and then hotfoot it to a vet to work
out what's wrong.
