I am trying to successfully chat via webcam through the latest version
of AIM Triton software, and the person I am trying to chat with can
only hear audio -- they cannot see video.

I have a Logitech Fusion web cam with the latest version of driver software.

I have a Netgear WGR614 v4 router. I have forwarded port 5190 and port
range 1024 to 5000 to my PC's static internal IP address.

I have Zone Alarms firewall, and have put green "check marks" in AIM
in all the boxes in the "IM Security" screen of Zone Alarms.

Both my computer and the party I am trying to chat with are using high
speed cable modem internet access.

A successful answer will tell me what settings to change in order to
allow for video and audio chat using AIM Triton.

Hi.

Your Netgear includes a SPI firewall (statefull packet inspection).
This is excellent! It will greatly simplify your configuration since
you no longer need zone alarm. If you bought ZA I would consider
selling it to someone who needs it more than you.

I know that sometimes people want to keep things like ZA even though
they don't need it. In these cases you need to allow the same ports to
be accessed as you have forwarded. In ZA go to Firewall -> Main ->
Internet Zone Security. Click on the Custom button. # nder the "High
Security for Internet Zone" heading, scroll down to where the
following settings are listed:

- Allow incoming UDP ports - Allow outgoing UDP ports
- Allow incoming TCP ports - Allow outgoing TCP ports

Check the box beside the desired setting (to open ports for a specific
program, check the software manufacturer's support site for specific
port information.
A field will appear below, where you can type in a port or range of ports.
Click OK.

Lastly, you might want to check to make sure windows firwall is
disabled. In XP you can do this by clicking start->settings->control
panel->Network Connections->Local Area Connection[some
number]->Properties->Advanced->Settings->OFF.
