Here is a link to an abstract from the Boston Herald that refers to the State Street Boston Corp (Which I beleive was the holding name/company for State Street Bank at the time) with a ticker of STBK. Here is a reference from the New York Times. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=980CEFDF1739F933A15754C0A962958260 Here is a response frome the State Bank Information people that I emailed on your behalf: The stock was listed as NMS which is a HUGE topic... Here is a link to explain some of it but perhaps one of our more seasoned market people here can give you a quick summary if you need it! http://www.arnoldporter.com/pubs/files/Article-SEC_Proposes_Regulation_NMS(6-04).pdf Hope you find this info useful... Good Luck! Here is also the response to an email I sent to State Bank for you: "*****, STT began trading on the NYSE as STT on 2/14/95. Prior to this, the company's common stock was traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol "STBK". Thank you for your inquiry, Mike " |
