How do you create a network drive in Windows Small Business Server
2003? At an older place of employment we had a network drive (an "I:"
drive), that users could put files in and make folders. I would like
to do this with a newly installed SBS 2003. Client computers can
create a network drive on their my shared folders, but the server
cannot see it.
I tried going to tools->Map drive, but no folder appears to let me do
it. How can I create a drive so that all users can put files into it
and all users can see it?

On the server, make the folder (or browse to it if it already exists)
that you want to use. This will be where all the data is stored. Let's
say on the C:\ we make the folder "share" (C:\share).

Right-click "share" and select the sharing and security option from
the context menu. On the window that pops up, select the "security"
tab. In that tab, you can select your users and the appropriate
permissions for them.

Following that, your users can then map the drive from their machine.
So, if the SBS2003 server is named "SBS_Server", they would map
\\SBS_Server\share and it will show up as a shared drive in their OS.

DO NOT share the root C: itself. Only share a subfolder of C:\. If you
don't set your permissions correctly and share the root, you may give
your users more access to critical OS files than you intended. Bad
things will happen as your users start snooping around.
