The following quote was on a head stone at a quaker church in Phil, PA.
The man who died was 21 and it was written in the late 1600's.
"Juft, generous and humane, He knew but vice the better to avoid her,
while every virtue claim'd alliance to him.

What does the quote mean and does it tell the story of how he died?

What's your question? (By the way, the first word of the epitaph is
"Just"; you've mistaken an old-fashioned "s" for an "f".)

The epitaph doesn't seem to say anything about how the man died. In
modern English it says that the occupant of the grave was: "Just,
generous and humane; he only had any knowledge of vice, in order to
avoid it; and he displayed every virtue."
