Hello! I am interested in opening a coffee shop in Amsterdam (if you don't know what this is see this page: http://www.amsterdam.info/coffeeshops/). My question is, what are the steps needed to do this? An acceptable answer will include (among other things) the following things... 1) What is needed in terms of citzenship and exactly what I need to do in order to achieve the correct status (I am currently a US Citizen). 2) What types of regulations exist on coffee shops in amsterdam and what permits are required in order to open one. Are these permits hard to obtain? Expensive? 3) What the approx. cost of real estate in high traffic tourist areas is ( such as examples of real estate that have sold in the past, and if there are any avaliable now) 4) Average cost of setting up a bar or coffee house type enviorment. This doesn't have to be specific to amsterdam coffee shops in general. 5) Any statistics on coffee shops which are available, such as how long they stay open, how many are open now, what type of demand exists, when demand is high, etc. 6) Anything you can find on annual profit or overhead and finally... 7) Whether there are any curretly for sale at the moment. Any other information you came across that isn't mentioned above would be greatly appretiated (and rewarded depeding on the usefulness). Thank you very much. A good tip will be given for a good answer. |

There are two types of coffee shop in Amsterdam: those that have a poster of Bob Marley on the wall; and those that don't. In the Bob Marley variety, cutsomers are asked 'Which Menu would you like?' (ie the Cannabis one or the foodie one.) So which type of coffee shop will yours be? |

From my understanding a "Coffee Shop" is the one that has the Bob Marley and regular coffee shops are called Cafes. |

Dear Brown Blanket Your question is about to expire without having been answered, and you might be disappointed. A possible reason for that could be your pricing, which might be a bit low for the type of research requested. You ask seven questions for $40 (from which the Researcher receives $30), that's about $4 a question. Some of them require legal research, others market research. My recommendation, if you're still interested in an answer, is to: - Post each question separately, so it would have a greater chance to receive an answer - Price them according to the pricing guide. Here is a link to guidelines about pricing your question, in the pricing guide: https://answers.google.com/answers/pricing.html. |
