Can you give me a list of graduate schools in the United States which offer programs similar to the ones listed ? 1) MIT Media Lab - Media Arts & Sciences Program (http://www.media.mit.edu/mas/apply.html) 2) NYU Tisch School of Arts - Interactive Telecommunications Program (http://itp.tisch.nyu.edu/page/home) 3) UC Irvine - Arts Computation Engineering (http://www.ace.uci.edu) 4) UC Santa Cruz - Digital Arts & New Media (http://digitalarts.ucsc.edu/apply) 5) CMU - Entertainment Technology Center (http://www.etc.cmu.edu/admissions) I am basically interested in programs which blend creativity in the form of arts / new media with technology and involve considerable amount of project work. Since I am an Information Technology graduate, majority of my colleagues are applying to Computer Science fields such as Networking, Artificial Intelligence etc. I find these very dry since I would not like to sit in front of the computer for 8 hours a day or get myself involved in much of programming and theoretical computer science. I was amazed when I saw the array of research work being carried out at the MIT Media Lab (which is not on the lines of theoretical computer science) So can you tell me those programs where my background can help me technically but at the same time involve a lot of creativity as well ? I am not looking for animation, 3D modelling, digital imaging and stuff which again involve a lot of hours in front of the computer. Blending other fields like mechanical engineering and automotive engineering with information technology will also do. |
