My Honda Civic EK3 car jerks (sputters? coughs?) at speeds between
40Kph and 60 kph when the rpm is held at a constant 1500rpm.
By trial and error it is not the following
Transmission
Distributor coil
Spark plugs
Sticking valve
Transmission oil
Can you help?

Does this occur when you are accelerating, decelerating, braking, etc.

It occurs only when the Rpm is held at 1500 using the accelerator
pedal. In other words if I accelerate or decelerate through this rpm,
the problem does not occur.

everette-ga:
In looking for background info that might help you, I came across a
post that I believe you made, on the TOV website. In that post, you
also mentioned that the TP sensor had been ruled out already. However,
I noticed that you did not include it above, in your first
clarification. Can you confirm if and how you have eliminated the TP
sensor as a possible cause?
Can you also say whether you have an automatic transmission or a
manual? In either case, have you checked whether this problem exists
at the same RPM in every gear available for you to select? Finally,
have you checked to see if this problem occurs when the car is in
neutral, and the engine speed held around 1500 RPM?
Thanks,

I am sorry that I inadvertently omitted the TP Sensor from this post.
Yes I have changed the TP sensor for a new one but the problem
persists.
The EK3 is an automatic CVT (Continuously Varible Transmission) engine.
When car is neutral the problem does not exist at 1500 RPM.
Hope this helps.
