Hi, I am looking for either a new flatbed scanner or softwares (drivers) that will allow me to disable the lamp of the scanner while scanning. I imagine this is possible since there are TMA (Transparent material adaptors) that provide its own light source. I need it for a different reason as I need the scanner to scan the surface of an illuminant. I have been using VueScan which allows you to have many more options and controls than most of the native vendor softwares, but it does not appear to have an option for turning off the lamp. I have seen a website stating using TWAIN-compliant software to disable lamp... but it is too general as most scanner softwares are TWAIN-compliant. Thank you |

First, check if your scanner have the hardware option to do it. I am not shure if every scanner have the option to turn the lamp. Ask the provider for information about it. Search in driverguide.com (login drivers psw all) for the drivers compatibles with your scanner. If you have access to open the scanner you can always unplug the lamp if you only need to do the scan procedure once. |
