Are there companies out there that makes a barcode scanner that I can
put around a loading dock door? What are these specific devices
typically called? I would prefer links to the detailed product
description or links to pages that sell them.

I would like to scan production barcodes as the fork trucks drive
through them while loading their pallets.

They only need to be on the left and right side of the doors. It would
be best if it also has a connected device with a display and input
features.

I'm looking for something that is like a square "strip" or frame. Not
a single pod like device as the barcode can be as low as 6 inches or
as high as 56 inches form the ground.

Oops. I mean "from" the ground (loading dock).

You might want to look into RFID.
