I have been using low energy lightbulbs for a number of years. In my
previous house, they lasted for years - I probably went 5 years
without changing a bulb. However, I moved house a couple of years
ago, and they don't seem to last the same amount of time. One has
just stopped working that was only a few weeks old, and I regularly
replace them. I thought it was one particular brand, but it seems to
be happening with different brands. It strikes me that there are
three possible things happening here:
1) Low energy lightbulbs aren't as good as they used to be (I bought
them a long time ago, for the other house - they are certainly cheaper
than they used to be).
2) I'm using the wrong brand (the first one I seemed to have trouble
with was GEC, but also Philips, I can't remember if there were others
- there may have been).
3) There's something strange about the electricity supply in this
house - less stable?
Suggestions / evidence for / against any of these would be a suitable
answer. Stronger evidence/solutions warrants a tip. |
