Dear surreymann,

The first Member of Parliament who spoke in the presence of television
cameras in the House of Commons was Ian Gow (born 11 February 1937;
died 30 July 1990), Conservative MP for Eastbourne. The day was 21
November 1989, and Ian Gow spoke from 2:36 pm to 2:52 pm.
