Hello again,

Have a look at this link:

www.aafla.org/OlympicInformationCenter/ OlympicReview/1937/BODE33/BODE33e.pdf

It's not EVERY competitor, but it does list the top finishers in each
event, even beyond the 1-2-3 place medal holders. You might get lucky
and find what you need here.

Hello once again...I've got an answer for you now.

A tip of the hat to fp-ga for pointing out (albeit obliquely) the
wonderful, extensive resources on the olympics available at the site
of the Amateur Athletic Foundation.

Detailed records of the 1936 Olympics -- including the names of
thousands of cometitors -- are included in two substantial PDF files
at:

http://www.aafla.org/6oic/OfficialReports/1936/1936v1sum.pdf

http://www.aafla.org/6oic/OfficialReports/1936/1936v2sum.pdf

You can explore these for the names you are seeking, and if they're
not there, then there's a good chance they simply didn't compete at
the Berlin games.

I trust this information fully meets your needs. But before you rate
this answer, please let me know if there's anything else I can do for
you.

Cheers,

pafalafa-ga

search strategy: Google searched on combinations of names of known
athletes competing in the 1936 Olympics, to come across the AAFLA
site.

Very good, that's it.

According to
http://www.olympic.org/uk/games/past/index_uk.asp?OLGT=1&OLGY=1936
(the website mentioned by pafalafa-ga when answering your previous question)

there were:
49 NOCs (Nations)
3,963 athletes (331 women, 3,632 men)
129 events

This is a list of the participating countries, i.e. it is not a list
of the "countries of origin of the male athletes":

There are some webpages stating that there were more than 4000 participants.

There is a rather extensive list of the competitors (e.g. 42 names for
the Marathon Race) and a list of the countries sorted by gender (e.g.
Bermuda and Bolivia men only) in two pdf-files (646 and 588 pages).
You would be able to search for a specific name.

As pafalafa-ga is about to answer your question I would like to leave
it to him to mention these two links. Anyway, it is after midnight
here in Europe.

Be patient when loading these files.

There is an index of names starting on page 545 of 588 in
http://www.aafla.org/6oic/OfficialReports/1936/1936v2sum.pdf

The page numbers in the index are of course the numbers as printed at
the bottom of the pages, not the page numbers of the pdf-file.

"Total Number of Competitors" on page 602 of 646
and
"Participation of Women" on page 604 of 646 in
http://www.aafla.org/6oic/OfficialReports/1936/1936v1sum.pdf
