Open Control Panel if using Category View: select Performance and Maintenance, then System if using Classic View: select System select the Hardware tab, then Device Manager expand the Ports (COM & LPT) right click on the LPT and select properties (or double click LPT) go to the Resources tab the start of the IO Range setting should be 03BC, 0278 or 0378 if not, or there is a conflict displayed if Automatic Settings is ticked, unselect it and try the Setting Based On pulldown list for one that gives you the right addresses and no conflicts and see if that fixes your problem you should note any changes you have made and establish a restore point with System Restore before altering your system. |

Use Automatic Settings may be greyed out but can you change via the "Setting based on:" pulldown box? |

You may need to manually change the I/O port addresses by setting jumpers on the expansion card, you should check the manual that came with the card. |
