I am a merchant with several websites and merchant accounts. I need to
find a solution to an increase in chargebacks and stolen credit card
transactions which are hurting my profit margins. What options are
available in terms of stolen transaction insurance? Can you buy
chargeback insurance? Where can I find this type of coverage and what
is the average cost?

Are you using

1. AVS - Address verification service - this can be used for largely
US based credit cardholders

2. CVV - pretty much un use globally - please make sure that your
payment processor does an actual check of these digits with the
merchant bank

You need to stop the fraud from getting the card number into your
systems, you can do this with better gateway software. Depending on
how you process cards at the moment it should not take much effort.

Reporting is the best way to stop both chargebacks and CC fraud. Your
problem is one I hear every day and normally arrises because people
run out of time in their day to watch their whole opperation.

Who do you use as your gateway/psp right now?

Currently I use CCBill.com and Authorize.net, both with full
anti-fraud features turned on. I have also used 2CheckOut which does a
better job looking for suspicious transactions. Can you recommend any
better gateways that would prevent these scam artists from taking
advantage?

Thank you
