My Computer's Compact disk drive seems to have lost the ability to
record - it will play a disk but when I go to burn ripped files it
does not sense that a CD has been inserted. It keeps telling me to
insert a CD. I am using "virgin" CD-R and CR-RWs - Any ideas?

A lens cleaner is a cd with a little brush on it generally sold as a
kit with some liquid, go out and buy one and follow the directions...
or try a different type of media instead of the "Virgin" CDr/rw's,
perhaps thats the problem.
