There was a techno song played during the Jan 15, 06 Chicago Bears vs.
Carolina Panthers football game. The song was played in the stadium
and could clearly be overheard during 4th quarter with about 1:45
remaining in the game. It's an older song as I have heard it now and
then at clubs and a few sporting events for several years. No lyrics -
only synthesizers and a drum machine. Can anyone help me identify it?

Hello bkadrie-ga,

Could the song that you are looking for be "Sirius" by Alan Parsons?
You can hear it at his website.

It is definately not Alan Parsons. I just listened to it again, right
at about 1:45 left in the game. The song is not electronica as much as
hardcore techno - fast... 140 plus beats per minute.

I believe the song in question is called, "The Launch" by DJ Jean. If
memory serves, I recall hearing that being played towards the end of
the game, though I was more focused on the fact that the Bears were
losing, so I could be wrong. It is a song that is commonly played at
both pro and college sporting events. Hope this helps!

Oh that is so in the ballpark but that is definately NOT the song. The
best thing i can do is say the song goes something like this...

dakada da da dakada da da dakada dakada dakada da da

:)

The only other song that comes to mind is "Zombie Nation" by Kernkraft
400. It almost sounds like a soccer chant as quite often the crowd
will get into it as well when it is played. I'm sure you would know
this song as well, but I'm just taking a stap in the dark. Hope it
helps.

If this is not it, I will try to continue to help figure it out. I
know how frustrating it is to hear a song you like and have no idea
what it is or how to find it.

Thanks so much for helping. I know Zombie Nation and that is not it.
The thing that's killing me is that I have heard this song several
times over the last few weeks and can't pin anyone down on it when I
hear it. I tried Tivo-ing the game and one of my kiddos cancelled the
recording otherwise, I would post an audio clip.

We used to dance to this song several years ago at a local industrial
club so I know it's been around for a bit. I have also heard it at a
hockey game before but it is not one of the standard anthems. I just
finished scouring all the "jock rock" albums but nothing.

I even called the stadium to see if they could help! I think my only
hope is finding a recording of the game to be able to post the clip.

I was watching the game I know exactly the song you are talking about
and I have never been able to find that song either. I remember it
being very popular during Spring break 2002, and I don't recall
hearing it all that often before that. I have checked out on Amazon
some best dance CDs from 2000-2002 and I can't find it there.

Allright, I think this is it!!

"Sandstorm" by Darude

After reading your question I just couldn't get it out of my head. I
finally downloaded one of those "techno megamixes" and it was one of
the songs in it.

Yes - that's it! And you won't believe this but my brother figured it
out at the exact same time you did! Thanks so much for your (and
everyone else's) help - it is $10 well-spent.

Sheesh - I can sleep tonight!

bkadrie,

Like googlenut said, I don't qualify for the payment. I have had the
same song stuck in my head for so long, I finally stayed up last night
and found it. Since it was reading your question that finally drove
me to research it, I figured the least I could do is let you know. Be
sure to cancel your question, since its already answered.
