Angy from Australia here. Lists such as you require are not publically
available here, since they would be in breach of Australia's very
strict privacy laws.
The law is, in this case, not so much to protect criminals, as their
relatives and friends.
You are also confusing prisons and detention centres.
Prisons are:
1)remand centres - for those who are accused of a crime and who have
not been granted bail - and
2)prisons proper, or jails for those who have ben found guilty and
must serve a custodial sentence.
Of course there are no publically available lists of the names of
those on remand, since they have not yet come to trial and may be
found innocent.
Juvenile detention centres are for juvenile offenders (under 18) and
again there are no publically available lists, nor should there be,
since juveniles may well never reoffend.
Refugee detention centres are for asylum seekers and refugees. They
are not prisons. They are privately run, and conditions in them are
highly controversial. Welfare organisations have some access to them,
and may well have some lists of detainees.
Are you trying to trace a refugee or a criminal offender? In the case
of a refugee an organisation such as the Red Cross may be able to
assist. |
