I am to start employment as a contractor for a major oil company. I am in the UK and will be based here for 6 months, I am currently a UK resident but plan to move overseas. Now what is the likelihood of the UK tax officials sending me a tax return for my ltd company before I depart. And should I no longer be within the UK are they likely to chase me up for payments when I am abroad |

I've tried to answer your question but can't. This year you'll be classed as resident in the uk for tax, as you're there now and will be for the next 6 months. So the taxman will want his cut, fill in form P85 to notify them you have left the UK. you also mention a ltd company, if this is registered anywhere in the UK then it will be liable for UK taxes even if you are not a UK resident. |
