I am to start employment as a contractor for a major oil company.

I am in the UK and will be based here for 6 months, I am currently a
UK resident but plan to move overseas.

Now what is the likelihood of the UK tax officials sending me a tax
return for my ltd company before I depart. And should I no longer be
within the UK are they likely to chase me up for payments when I am
abroad

There is no answer at this time.

I've tried to answer your question but can't.

This year you'll be classed as resident in the uk for tax, as you're
there now and will be for the next 6 months. So the taxman will want
his cut, fill in form P85 to notify them you have left the UK.

you also mention a ltd company, if this is registered anywhere in the
UK then it will be liable for UK taxes even if you are not a UK
resident.
