what number(/%) are regular/passenger cars  for the following bridges

* please note some bridges may not allow commercial traffic to enter Manhattan

rejus2005-ga,

As a New Yorker born and bred, I couldn't resist taking a crack at
this one, and luckily, I have my son with me to help out.

Turns out that NYC has some of the information you're looking for, but
not broken out in quite the way you asked.

We found daily traffic numbers for all the bridges and tunnels for Manhattan.

The numbers are presented in two different ways.  For some of the
bridges and tunnels, the numbers are broken out as:

Autos 
Buses 
Commuter Vans 
Trucks 
Commercial Vans


while for some of the other bridges and tunnels, the break out is simply:


Autos
Trucks 
Buses
(with vans and light trucks included in Autos).


It's not quite what you asked for, but sometimes it's necessary to
work with what's available.

hi thanks for helping out
i think what u r refering to is the PDF found on MTA DOT site. but the
problem is that is breaks down the traffic for 13 free bridges but for
paid tunnels/bridges they only say total enter/leave manhattan data
without a breakdown.
now holland tunnel does not allow commercial traffic inbound to
manhattan therefore i was able to estimate traffic but for other
tunnels/bridges traffic is all inclusive both commercial/passenger.

but unless its not the 117 page report i am talking about maybe i will
be ok with auto / buses / truck breakdown for the remaining
bridges/tunnels.

to see what the data for the Holland Tunnel, and other MTA operations,
looks like from the report I found.

Data for the other B&T's in Manhattan are in the other format I
mentioned earlier (Commercial Vans, Commuter Vans, etc).

Well out of autos it would be great to know how many of them are
INBOUND to Manhattan + how many of them are commercial. if i could get
an answer to at least one of them i think i be happy.
do all the bridges accept commercial traffic?

This turned out to be quite complicated, because the traffic stats are
presented in so many different formats -- daily, yearly, hourly max,
one way traffic, two-way combined, all vehicles, vehicle breakouts,
and so on.

Fortunately, there are data on total inflow/outflow that allow us to
figure the percentage of traffic coming into Manhattan for each
crossing:
