Gloss is an important measure of a surface quality and is closely
controlled throughout the manufacture of most coated products;
beginning with the formulation and manufacture of the coating at the

factory and is part of the final inspection of the product before it
is dispatched to the end user
By using a glossmeter to quantify gloss by this process, the industry
is able to deliver a consistent product that meets customer needs.
