I am getting the following error message : NTVDM Kernel Missing 16-bit
System Module KEYBOARD.DRV
Please re-install the following module to your system 32 directory

Is there a way to fix this problem without re-loading Windows XP?

Hi clanmcd,

1) Have you searched for the file KEYBOARD.DRV? (click Start / Find)

If it is located in your WINDOWS/SYSTEM folder and not in your
WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 folder, just copy it into the SYSTEM32 directory.

2) Have you tried your System File Checker yet? There are good
directions at the following link.

scannow sfc (sfc.exe)
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html

3) It also wouldn't hurt to run HouseCall, a very thorough online virus scan.

HouseCall:

Will look forward to your update,
hummer

Good news, clanmcd, thank you for letting me know. Here it is again to
make it official:

1) Have you searched for the file KEYBOARD.DRV? (click Start / Find)

If it is located in your WINDOWS/SYSTEM folder and not in your
WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 folder, just copy it into the SYSTEM32 directory.

2) Have you tried your System File Checker yet? There are good
directions at the following link.

scannow sfc (sfc.exe)
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html

Still wouldn't hurt to run HouseCall, it often finds things that others miss. 8-)

Take care,
hummer

acording to that ^
you have to reinstall
but i have an idea although i hold no responsibility if it messes
something up but what might possibly work is going to another comp and
copying the KEYBOARD.DRV to a disk or cd and then replacing
problematic one on your comp

good luck
