According to the Bible, dead people cannot "haunt" anything. Proverbs 21;16.."he will rest in the very congregation of those IMPOTENT in death" Psalm 146;4 "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground, IN THAT DAY HIS THOUGHTS DO PERISH". Ecclesiastes 9;10.."All that your hands finds to do, do with your very power, for there is NO work, nor devising, nor knowledge, nor wisdom in Sheol". In the King James Bible the word is translated, the grave. Verse 5 states the dead are conscious of nothing at all. The scriptures indicate people cannot become ghosts. But that does not exclude paranormal phenomena. Thes are caused by Demons, the ones , including Satan their leader, who have been ejected from heaven and cast down to the earth. Revelation 12;7-9. A study of the Bible can warn us and protect us from evil influence. |

But on the other hand, if God in his unlimited wisdom decided that a church shall be haunted, it would be so. Therefore, we should say that if a church is haunted, it is God's will. And who are we to question His ways? Scriptor |

Hey, if anyone has a list I'd be interested in hearing it. I went to St. Mary's College in the 90's - there is an old graveyard in Historic St. Mary's City right by Lookout Point. Tons of old graves and coffins. Three lead coffins were found there, buried under the church, in 1992 or 1993. This was really interesting because it meant two things: 1) Possible uncontaminated 17th century air [to compare the impact of our pollution to it] and 2) If it were Lord Calvert, it means that the church in Historic St. Mary's City was the first Catholic Church in Maryland. Never really heard anything else about that . . . but believe it was on Dateline? 20/20? Or one of those shows. Know the coffins held really well preserved bodies - there was still hair and skin on the bodies. Believe it was Lord Calvert, a wife, and a child. |
