I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100. It has a standard screen (1024 x
768). How can I get it to connect properly to a widescreen (1920 x
1200) on my desktop?

At the moment, my only option is 1600 x 1200 and the result is that
everything on the widescreen in stretched horizontally.

Is there some software (or hardware) to convert standard screen to
widescreen for Toshiba Laptops?

Hi Endo,

You are a genius. We have three laptop computer users here at my work
who could not get their brand new wide-screens working and we thank
you very very much. Nobody at Toshiba, or in our computer support
company, or anywhere else could help.

We downloaded the program and went
Powerstrip>Display>Configure>Advanced Timing Options>Custom
Resolutions and set the resolution to the appropriate setting.

Easy as that.

PowerStrip is a powerful program that lets you do all sorts of things
with your display. Whenever I find that there's a refresh or
resolution problem, I turn to PowerStrip.

There are a couple of other utilities on CNET, if you feel like you're
missing something, but I wouldn't try anything else if PowerStrip
works for you.
