When I was younger in 2nd grade (1970'ish), I saw a film in class narrated by Walter Cronkite that featured a mouse that breathed underwater without any apparatus. The mouse reportedly had its lungs filled with some miracle substance. I want to download this footage. Can anyone help me? | |

There is footage equivalent to this involving a rat in James Cameron's "The Abyss" if that is of any use. |

The mouse was breathing an oxygenated halogen liquid. A much more viscous version is used to lubricate air compressors that fill scuba tanks. From the search I did, information is hard to find on the subject. The following is a citation of a study about the topic http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?CMD=Display&DB=pubmed |
