What brand of computer do you currently own?

I have two, but both are no-name IBM compatibles. I have constructed
myself one of them (and had a lab construct the other), so the parts
are from different no-name (and also brand name, i.e., Sony DVD
player) companies.

When do you next expect to buy a new computer (ie 3 months, 6 months,
2 years, etc)?

I hope two years, but the way I'm using it, I'm afraid much much less.

I'd probably construct again, from different parts, and might
canibalise parts of older computers.

How long have you owned an iPod? I haven't.

Switched from brand computers to custom computers built by a shop in
the area.   Tell them what you want and they build it.   Costs about
20% more but they are there when you have questions or problems.  
Unfortunately, these shops are disappearing.
