I am delighted to learn that my suggestion was helpful! I've reposted
the link below.

Philips Magnavox PM625
http://media-server.amazon.com/media/mole/MANUAL000027937.pdf

I was aware of this link because of an earlier research project. I
knew from experience that Philips Magnavox has changed the outer shell
of its remote controls (and changed the model numbers), but the
innards (and the codes) stay the same. I own a Philips Magnavox PMDVR8
remote and two other, older Philips Magnavox remotes, and the manual
linked above works for all of them, so I had a hunch that this manual
would do the trick for you.

You may want to save the file to your hard drive, or print it out for
future use, since Amazon often removes this kind of file when they no
longer sell the device to which the file refers.

Best regards,
Pink

Here's the manual for the Philips Magnavox PM625. I believe this to be
essentially the same device as your PMDVD6, internally; the case is
shaped differently, but I think the instructions should be identical.
Please let me know if this helps, and I'll repost it as your answer.

My frustration only lasted one night, then pink came to the rescue and
I didnt have to go buy another remote. Pink was able to solve my
problem. I dont know how Pink did it but Pink must be some sort of
Internet SuperStar.
Thanks again
