I need to identify and figure out the web pages for the handful of
online yellow page sites which comprise "80%" (...or "most"...) of the
world's online yellow page traffic. Please note this is a global
question-- not just US.
What I essentially need is a table of Online Yellow pages sites sorted
by volume, and for it to be international, including all countries
where Yellow Pages is a service that exists.
Your help is certainly appreciated. |

Would you be satisfied with traffic data, as it is documented by Alexa?

ucbadam-ga,
I don't know that any resource has actual traffic figures for Yellow
Page sites around the world.
However, typical search engine results are ranked with the most
popular sites at the top of the list. That is, the most
heavily-trafficked Yellow Page sites will appear at the top of the
search results page.
For instance, a Google Directory search on "Yellow Pages" (with the
quote marks included) results in the following:
Superpages.com is at the top of the results, which certainly jives
with my experience as it being the most popular of Yellow Page sites.
Many of the other top results are other US and North America sites.
However, there are quite a number of international sites in the Top 25
results, including:
www.yell.com
UK
www.yellowpages.ca
Canada
www.europages.com
Europe
www.worldpages.com
International
www.yellowpages.com.au
Australia
www.quehubo.com
Columbia
www.d.co.il
Israel
www.yellowpages.co.nz
New Zealand
www.yp.com.hk
Hong Kong
www.yellowpages.co.id
Indonesia
Would a longer list of non-US Yellow Page sites that appear in the top
search rankings meet your needs? If so, I'd be glad to compile the
list for you.
Let me know,

Thanks for the quick help guys. Let me clarify a bit exactly what I
need to have this thing solved. Though I think you guys are very
close.
I need a table that includes the top 1-3 Yellow Pages sites from each
of the countries below. Then I need to have this table ranked by site
traffic, for which Alexa could work. So what I am envisioning is a
table with three colums: Country, Yellow Pages site (each country
having 1-3 of the top YP sites included), and traffic.
Here is a list of the countries I am looking for:
United States
China
Japan
India
Germany
France
United Kingdom
Italy
Russia
Brazil
Korea, South
Canada
Mexico
Spain
Indonesia
Australia
Turkey
Iran
Netherlands

ucbadam-ga,
One more question, if I may.
Do you want the sites ranked within country? Or between countries?
That is, I may be able to get you the top sites in Spain, and the top
sites in Turkey. But I may not be able to tell you if Spain's #1 site
gets more or less traffic than the #1 site in Turkey.
That's what I mean by ranking within a country, but not between countries.
Let me know what you think.

Hi Pafalafa,
I do actually need comparisons between countries. But if the chart as
I described below is filled out, then you'll have volume numbers of
all the sites, so it will be easy to rank them within and between
countries.
So just to be clear again, I'm envisioning a table with country (ie,
US), yellow pages top 1-3 sites (ie, Yahoo Yellow Pages, Superpages,
etc), and then daily traffic rankings (ie, Yahoo Yellow Pages gets 1mm
users a day).
