ickeyshuffle-ga:

This question does not have a definitive answer, as the fine folks at
K-Mart and Sears' IT departments are only beginning to dig into their
multitude of IT systems to figure out what should be merged, what
should be left independent, and what should be retired. As well, there
is no guarantee that any of the solutions they enact for the issues
they identify will actually make for a successful merger. IT alone
does not a successful business make.

To help provide you with an answer, perhaps you can provide a tighter
scope for your question, such as "Name three key IT-related issues
that, if left unresolved, can affect the success of the K-Mart/Sears
merger."

You do not have to solve these issues. I understand this is a broad
question. Perhaps you could name three few key IT-related issues, it
left unresolved, could affect the success of the K-Mart/Sears merger
might be. Any other examples of large-scale mergers and the IT-issues
they had would be appreciated.
