Howdy connellg-ga,

Microsoft implicitly states that it does on the "Features of Windows
Media Player for Windows XP" Microsoft web page.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/windowsxp/features.aspx

"...
Support for multiple CD/DVD drives

Many users now have both DVD and CD-RW drives. Windows Media Player for
Windows XP makes it easier to access your music and video on multiple
drives."

As Windows Media Player supports multple DVD burners, it follows that
Windows XP Pro does as well.

There are plenty of posts on various message areas on what drives and
third party software is/are best to use, such as the following.

Not only can you have 2 DVD burners with XP Pro, but if set up just so,
you can burn 2 DVDs at the same time! The following is from a message
posted on the MCSE.MS website.
http://hardware.mcse.ms/archive61-2004-5-13939.html

"Im using two NEC 2500's [DVD burners] both connected to the secondary
IDE channel, one as a master and one as a slave, both running the same
firmware ... using Recordnow max to burn 2 discs .... at a time ...
...
PC is running P4 3 gig, 1 gig DDR, couple of hard drives XP pro."

The "burn 2 DVDs at the same time" trick might require matched DVD burners
and/or 3rd party software.

If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.
