Locate the text of a short essay entitled "The English" or "English
People" written in Chinese during the early 20th century, if possible,
along with an English translation. It's possible this was written by
Lu Xun, but may have been written by another well-known modern
colloquial style author.

The title is something like "ying ren" or "ying guo ren"
and the author's name may also be spelled Lu Hsün, if he is in fact the author.

I've actually found it. It's called ying guo ren, as I thought. The
author is Lao She, published in the 40s.

Thanks for trying!
