I am searching for a place to get myself a modest (yet modern) wedding
dress. I will be married in an Orthodox Synagogue and I want a dress
that has 3/4 length sleeves or full sleeves, and a neckline that does
not plunge. I have barely found ANY dresses online, and what I have
found has looked ridiculous. Does anyone know where I can find some
nice, modest wedding dresses? It seems like the only ones on the
market are totally strapless!

Hello elanas-ga,

It seems that strapless is the current leading style in wedding
dresses. I can see why you?ve felt frustrated in your search for
something more modest. The search was challenging but not impossible.
I?ve located several vendors that offer dresses that should meet your
specifications. Most of them also emphasizes their ability to
customize the dresses so modifying the sleeve length or neckline
should not be too difficult.

Happy bridal shopping.

Mazel Tov!

First of All MAZEL TOV to your wedding!
Second MAZEL TOV to me 4 writing the first time in Google Answers.

Here we go,
My friend?s mom has a shop in Monsey NY that caters specifically to
the orthodox Jewish community.

They usually get their gowns from http://www.kleinfeldbridal.com/ in NYC.
Then they modify it as you want. They are not cheap, tough. It?s kind
of high class. They have a place in Brooklyn, Williamsburg as well.

Best if you talk to Mrs. Deutch in Monsey.
Even if you don?t buy by them, they will probably be able to guide you
to others that cater to ?Tznius? crowds.

Here is the info:
Majestic Bride, (845) 356-6225, 5 Route 59, Monsey NY 10952
Bridal 2000 (718) 384-4798, 168 Rutledge St, Brooklyn

Enjoy !
Somone, Somewhere in brooklyn wishing you Shabat Shalom and all the best

(Gosh !! I posted this by mistake to another Wedding-Dress question.
God will forgive me ..)

There are a range of possibilities if you are in the NY area,
particularly if you are also open to renting or borrowing from a
gemach. The latter can save you a lot! Check for a comprehensive
listing on the Directory page of Kallahmagazine.com. NOt listed there
is a bridal shop in the 5 Towns that caters to the frum crowd who can
afford it, see bridalsecrets.com. For reasonably priced gowns, some
of which you can work with-- sleeve-wise, etc. check out
Thebridalshop.com. The store is in Westchester. See the Allure
Modest line. Also many shops offer the service of alteration, so they
can fill in for you. Doris Fashions, one of the shops listed on the
Directory, offers that service.

I am in the same situation, about to be a bride myself and looking for
Tznius dresses. I recently found a nice site called funkyfrum.com.
they have some wedding gowns that are quite lovely and frum and they
have lots of other frum clothing (some is quite funky). check it out.

Another person suggested Darius Cordell. I can only recommend that
you STAY AWAY from them. They are bad news.
