I want to know, when one installs Cox internet access on a Windows
computer, in the US:

1. To what does it set the homepage on Internet Explorer?
2. Does it install any toolbars?
3. What icons/links does it add on the desktop?
4. What links does it add to the start menu?
5. What links does it add to the Taskbar?
6. What favorites/links does it prepopulate?
7. Does it come with any browsers other than Internet Explorer (eg
Netscape, Firefox, an AOL-style client)
8. Does it install anything else?

Does it ask the user whether he wishes to set these, or does it just
go ahead and set them?

That's great, but please note I need the settings as determined by
Cox, rather than settings that the user sets afterwards on his own.
The 'virgin' settings, if you like.

For this question, the response from both my brother and Cox
Communications (Baton Rouge, La) is: It sets the homepage to
http://batonrouge.cox.net.

Therefore, it will set the Cox homepage for the area you are in.

It does not install toolbars.

3. What icons/links does it add on the desktop?

It adds a High Speed Internet link to the desktop.

It does not add any specific links.

It does not add any specific links.

It does not prepopulate any specific links.

It does not install anything else unless you tell it to. For instance
the CD includes Adobe Acrobat Reader, and USB drivers for different
modems.
