Hi,

I'm looking for a place (small company or capable person) to get an
engine-protoype built.

The prototype will be based on a conventional combustion engine
(Diesel or gasoline/petrol, whatever will be easier/cheaper to build
and get to work), to the extent that existing cylinders,
cylinder-heads, pistons, valves, carburetor (or injection system)
could be used (ie. scavenged from a used engine and/or purchased as
parts). The main difference will be in the engine-housing and its
contents, where most notably the crankshaft and piston-rods will be
replaced by a novel alternative (which, I hasten to add, should be
simpler to manufacture than the usual crankshaft + piston-rods setup).

I am guessing that any company or person(s) with experience in custom
engine rebuilds (such as engine tuning etc.), a reasonable amount of
mechanical expertise and access to the right tools, will be able to
produce the necessary special parts (new engine housing, the new
piston-rod-alternative and various small parts to make everything fit)
as well as assembling these, together with the standard parts
(cylinders, pistons and so on), into the finished prototype engine.

I should stress that no overly complicated parts will have to be
produced for this build (since any such will be purchased or scavenged
from a suitable donor engine), but the parts that does need to be
built, like most parts for any engine, will have to be made with the
necessary precision and care, to ensure proper operation under the
stresses that is to be expected in a combustion engine.

I will be able to supply technical drawings (of somewhat limited
detail) of what needs to be changed from the original engine design,
and will of course be available (by phone or e-mail, most likely)
before and during the build, to answer any questions that might occur
along the way. I am prepared to pay for the parts, as well as a
reasonable price for the actual build (details of which is to be
agreed upon at the outset).

Having tried to search the internet for a suitable company (or capable
hobbyist) without success, I am hoping that someone here at Google
Answers will be able to locate one or more sutable companies or
persons that might be interrested in taking on this task?

I will consider a reasonable number of links (or other "contact
information") for such suitable companies or persons a payable answer
to this question, the precise number of links should depend on how
likely they are to be of value (ie. a small number of sure links or a
larger number of less certain links). "Suitable" here to be understood
in the sense that there is a fair chance the company or person(s),
when contacted, will consider doing the job for a reasonable payment
(as "reasonable" as such things can be expected to be).

Regards,

inventus-ga.
